Prayer for the Week:
Not enough feel welcome at the table
Not enough believe your invitation
Not enough embrace their beloved status
Is it something we have done
Gracious God?
Is there somewhere we have failed?
Too much pain and brokenness
Too many standing on the outside
looking in
Too many who have been pushed out
by the very ones who
should love them unconditionally
Too many living their lives feeling
unwanted
unworthy
undeserving
Call us once again to the work of your kingdom
not some distant pie-in-the-sky kingdom
but a way of living modeled in the life of Jesus
Not enough feel welcome at the table
Not enough believe your invitation
Not enough embrace their beloved status
Our mission is clear
Now help us get to work
doing the good work
The good work of love
Amen.
