ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
January 22 2024 So often in scripture, including the Psalms, the holy character of the temple is declared. The space is made holy, not by anything humans have done but by the presence of the One who is holy. To be holy is to be 'set apart,’ yet it is fascinating how the One who is set apart makes the decision to come close in tangible expressions of steadfast love. Like the author, we are in awe of God’s majesty and greatness, but what is even more impressive is when God brings the vastness of the divine nature into the everyday lives of ordinary people, just like us. I worship you, O God, for your boundless love has touched me, a creature limited by the boundaries of my human existence. Amen.
