ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS Thought for the Day: Even though Herod had an ulterior motive, I still read it as someone who wants others to do the hard work of faith. Can we really ask someone else to search on our behalf; to do the challenging and necessary tasks; to find God’s gift for us? There are companies out there whose task is to do all the legwork and research prior to someone’s big purchase, but I can’t imagine the life of faith bringing a transformed heart if someone else has done everything for you. You can’t just show up and pay him homage without a little bit of sweat and struggle. Well I guess you technically could, but I don’t think it will mean much. There is a reason it is often called the journey of faith. We can travel with others, but our faith is build every step of that journey. The hard work along the way is where faith is discovered and developed. Prayer: Lead me by your light, O God who beckons us into the fullness of life. Meet me along the journey, while pushing me forward into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Christ. Amen. via WordPress https://ift.tt/3rFU0hU
