ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS

Scripture: Number 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Thought for the Day: When I was a kid, the minister at First Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, offered this as the closing Benediction at every Sunday morning service. It seemed fitting today, as a blessing to all who enter this new year of life. There are still some challenging months ahead, still plenty of mask wearing and limited gatherings. Let’s be honest, it won’t be fun. Yet it is the right thing for all of us to do! And in the midst of it all, remember:

Prayer: May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
