ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
November 5, 2024 Does the end justify the means? Some would say, YES, but I’m pretty sure Jesus would say, NO! For Jesus, I’m pretty sure LOVE was both the end and means which ends up complicating things. For though LOVE is powerful, it also requires patience as it depends entirely on a change of heart that occurs through free will. When people begin to mistrust LOVE because it's not going to work in a reliable timeframe, suddenly the means will include a lot of things that are far from loving. When that occurs, it is impossible to reach the goal of LOVE. When two people like each other, but one would like to see it move along more quickly with the goal of LOVE, what happens when that person does not trust the power of love to do its thing? What if that person chooses to lie, manipulate, or bring fear to the relationship? Is LOVE even achievable? I would suggest it is not, as LOVE is achieved only with LOVE. Holy One of Love, continue to draw me into a deeper understanding of your love, as your love is what I know and experience from you. Amen.
