Prayer for the Week: When my patience is drying up and appears more like a mirage in the desert, I turn to you, Generous God. Keep me strong in my pursuit of a tenacious attitude that will search diligently for endurance and some fortitude when it comes to the work of patience in my life. Too often ideas are dismissed, and a promised future is crushed by the short-sided. Make within me, Gracious God, a resilient heart that is capable of keeping on when keeping on makes no sense. In times of prayer like this, whisper some hope into my soul, for there I will find sustenance for another day in this pursuit of your vision cast before me in the life of Jesus. This is both a request and a deeply felt yearning. Amen.
