ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS

Does God wait for humanity to figure it out before God acts? The answer is a simple but definitive “No!” Our vision and mission at Cypress Creek Christian Church are rooted in the words of 1st John 4, where we read how we are to love BECAUSE God first loved us. It wasn’t even a back and forth with God saying, “I like you, and then you can like me back. From there, we will take it to the level of really liking each other.” Instead, God took all the necessary steps in the one we know as Jesus to show up in the very place the world found itself. The Good News is that the Living Christ enfleshed in the Body of Christ, the church, continues to show up. That’s the reason we at Cypress Creek Christian Church continue to strive toward the lofty goal of Putting Love First In All Things. We do so because the world needs a tangible expression of a God who does not wait around but finds a way of saying to every aspect of creation, including every single person, “You are one of God’s beloved right now.”

If I am having some questions about whether I am loved, O Living Word of Love, I pray for a revelation of your love that reaffirms this Good News. And if my neighbor is asking those questions, I pray for my life to be a clear witness to that Good News. Amen.
