ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
July 9, 2024 People are dealing with such different things today. Some of you who are regular readers won’t be able to access this because you have not been able to charge your device. Some of you are up early trying to remove debris or waiting for the tree removal person. Some of you are dealing with difficult issues totally unrelated to the storm. Moments like this are complicated, yet no matter what you are facing, don’t feel as if it shouldn’t be mentioned because it is not as bad as that person two blocks over. It’s not a competition to see who is dealing with the worst scenario after the hurricane. What you are facing today is what you are facing today. Give yourself plenty of permission to express your frustrations or even have a fifteen-minute pity party. And then let us know if there is something we can do to help. For all those with sore muscles, everyone facing a financial loss, and all the feelings of being completely overwhelmed, I pray for there to be a little bit of space and awareness to receive your gift of peace, O Compassionate and Loving God. There seems to always be a lot on people’s plates, but then there is an event like this, and the plate seems to be overflowing. Let us take just a moment to breathe in your Spirit, a means by which we are reminded of your gifts of hope and encouragement. Amen.
