Prayer for the Week:
We seek to entrust all the endings and the new beginnings to you, O Merciful God. We hear the words of scripture that speak of how for everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven, yet so often we are not ready to let go of one season, and we have no desire to think of that time that has yet to be realized. There is a rhythm to life, and there are times when it is comfortable and comforting, but when it is no longer comfortable or comforting, we seek to create our own rhythm and system that clings to what was. Change is happening around us. Change is happening within us. What once seemed predictable and within our control has fallen beyond our reach. We are left with questions and many unknowns. For those moments, we pray for your immeasurable and unquestionable grace to be the Rock on which we can stand, or at least to which we can cling, when the season we so enjoyed is no longer the season we are in. Amen.
