ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS Thought for the Day: Joseph was tossed in prison after false allegations were brought against him. You would think an experience like that would bring a sense of despair to one’s life. Yet the story of Joseph’s life depicts an individual who had an amazing capacity to not only believe that there was something else beyond the immediate crisis, but to find purpose in the less than stellar moments of life. The great Civil Rights leader, Rosa Parks, wrote the following: In life, when we feel as if we are floundering, fear finds fertile ground and will enjoy the opportunity to play all kinds of mind games. In this moment of time, many people feel as if their lives lack purpose since they are unable to do what they have always done. Maybe the purpose God has for you will need some slight modification in this current environment, but if Joseph could find a God-inspired purpose while in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, then I believe there is a God-inspired purpose waiting for each of us to discover. Finding it and living it are some of the great thwarters of fear. Prayer: Create within my mind a picture of a meeting place between my gifts and the needs around me. Holy God, let my life find new purpose as your Gospel of love is always seeking new avenues to reach the world. Amen. TODAY Join Zoom Meeting Dial to the Meeting:
