Prayer for the Week:
You call us to great things
You guide us by faith
You captivate us through love
Holy One, Mother, and Father to all
Your teaching informs us
Your stories shape us
Your life-witness sets a standard
When called to love our neighbor
We sometimes push back
As there are neighbors we do not like
When faith guides us 
to welcome the stranger
We often feel threatened 
As the stranger is strange to us
When captivated through your love
It draws us outside of ourselves
Where there is risk and uncertainty
And we run back to what is secure
In your patience
Call us
Guide us
Captivate us
As those with purpose
The purpose of Jesus the Christ
Who took on the form of a servant
Becoming one like us
Choosing obedience
Including death on a cross
Yet the story continues
Calling us
Guiding us
Captivating us
May we be faithful
Amen
