Prayer for the Week:
O Victorious God, I fervently prayed for my team to win; bargained my good behavior for more touchdowns; pleaded for the heavenly host to provide additional strength on the offensive line. I did everything I believed would help induce a victory by your divine hand, yet strangely I did not sense any enthusiasm for my prayer. It even felt as if your love for players and fans was given without concern for the color of their jersey or even if there was success on the field. Could it be that you celebrate athletic prowess, but your true aspiration is to bring a touch of heaven to earth through acts of kindness, compassion, and justice? If that’s the case, regardless of the outcome, may I join you in witnessing a triumph for your Kin(g)dom this very day. Amen
