Prayer for the Week:
Wherever there is true empathy, there is kindness that will change lives. Through your Spirit, Holy God, continue to stretch our hearts and expand our capacity to listen to the needs of other human beings, regardless of whether we know them or can relate to their situations. No matter who they are, they deserve grace and compassion. Remind us of how our daily decisions communicate what we truly value, and each interaction with friends and strangers reveals what we believe the Gospel to be. In your mercy, encourage us in those moments when we know we have fallen short. May we find the courage, even after stumbling, to stretch toward the high ideal set forth by Jesus—the ideal of unconditional and unrelenting love. Perfection may not be what we achieve, but working together within the Body of Christ—the church—amazing things are possible. Amen.
